Each year, NJBankers sponsors a Community Service Award Program to celebrate the community work of its members and shares those efforts with representatives of New Jersey's governing bodies. Member banks submit entries of their community service activities from the prior year, which are compiled and presented to members of the New Jersey congressional delegation and the New Jersey legislature to demonstrate the active role the banking industry plays through civic and charitable activities for the betterment of communities throughout the state.
Several members of the New Jersey Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America review all entries and select those they deem worthy of special recognition. Lakeland Bank was the recipient of the 2017 Community Service Silver Award for its efforts and initiatives which improve the lives of citizens and the communities that are served in New Jersey.
