Oak Ridge, N.J., July 20, 2015 – Lakeland Bank was pleased to distribute $125,000 in scholarships to high school seniors graduating this year from Bergen, Essex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties. The funds were raised last September at the Bank’s 2014 Annual Scholarship Golf Outing.
“Lakeland Bank’s Annual Scholarship Golf Outing provided scholarships to over 60 students this year and more than 500 since the Bank began hosting this annual event,” said Thomas Shara, president and CEO of Lakeland Bank. “As a community bank, we strongly believe that access to an affordable higher education paves the way for enhancing the stability, growth and economic development in our local neighborhoods.”
The scholarships are presented to students selected by their public or private school who have demonstrated academic success and have an interest in pursuing a higher education. Lakeland Bank congratulates the students who were selected to receive the 2015 scholarships and advises students entering their senior year to contact the Guidance department at their school to learn how to apply for a Lakeland Bank Scholarship.
